Benvido a Galicia

Casitas Auria represents traditional Galician houses nestled in typical villages, surrounded by beautiful nature and genuine Galicians!

We are Irene and Hanspeter, originally from Bern, Switzerland. Due to family ties, we've come to know and love Galicia over the years. So much so that in 2024, we emigrated to our second home, Ourense, in beautiful Galicia, together with our daughter, dog, and five rabbits. Now, dear guests, we would like to introduce you to the charms of Galicia, especially the area around Ourense, the "Gold City." If you want to experience a different, forgotten side of Spain, you've come to the right place. That's why we founded Casitas Aurias. Our goal is to renovate traditional houses and rent them out to guests from all over the world. We are happy to share our impressions and experiences, showing you our favorite spots with spectacular views, taking you to one of Spain's oldest wine regions, or experiencing the Côte d'Azur (Coast of Death) up close. Finally, we celebrate together with a traditional "Festa Gallego" (Gallic Festival) with wonderful food, music, and a magical caimada (a traditional Galician drink). After that, you'll never forget Galicia. Alegra!

The best way to reach Ourense is by plane. EasyJet flies to Santiago de Compostela airport 2-4 times a week, depending on the season. From the airport to Ourense it's about 90km, which you can cover either by rental car, with our pick-up service, or by train and bus.

Anyone wanting to drive to Galicia from Switzerland should expect a journey of 1800 km. The route is long, but if you stop at the right places, it's all the more worthwhile.
